(Report: S.S.Dogra) 29th January,2021: New Delhi: The Bar Council of India(BCI) joins hands with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT). For this purpose a Press Meet organized in the capital today. While addressing the Media Mr.Manan Kumar Mishra-Chairman, BCI reveals that “The Bar Council of India has taken an initiative to establish the Indian Institute of Law(IIL) to upgrade the standard of teaching for Law teachers and advocates. He further added that B.C.I. had earlier established National Law School of India University at Bangalore way back in 1986. On this occasion, Dr.Achuta Samanta-Founder of KIIT & KISS was also present during the press meet and expressed his gratitude to BCI for this wonderful initiative for the entire law fraternity of Odisha state. Dr.Samanta is quite popular educationist, philanthropist who has devoted his whole life for the development of the tribes of Odisha. His two establishements KIIT & KISS providing free education along with free boarding, lodging and food to more than thirty thousands tribal students right from class one to Post Graduation.
Now, IIL would work in collaboration with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) at Bhuvneshwar in Odisha. This will be the first Law training institute of country to cater the needs for skill development of the Law Teachers and the Lawyers. With this association, the young teachers of law schools of India and advocates would enhance their expertise and professional skill.
B.C.I, Trust has entered into an MoU with KIIT and according to that KIIT will provide requisite land at Pall, Bhuvneshwar and KIIT will also bear 40% of the cost of the infrastructure of the proposed campus of 1.5 lakh Sq. feet area. On the other hand, Indian Institute of Law will administer and run various programmes for Legal Education, professional skill development programmes, refresher courses and undertake research in all aspects of law, justice and social development. Besides that IIL will organize and conduct seminars, symposiums, training programs for advocates, academicians and judges.
