When Hindus needs no BJP : Vivekanand Jha

Dharma saves and unites Hindus in India and Nepal under cultural nationalism.

The eternal Sanatan Dharma survived for millennia when there was no BJP; likewise, Hinduism will continue to survive in the coming millennia when BJP will have become extinct.

Vivekanand Jha, Ranchi: India is in for the cataclysmic crises from all sides, yet the nation, in the blissful ignorance of the same, we all are participating in a national celebration of the invincibility of our national leadership by handing him on a platter the victory at the hustings. The latest triumph of BJP, in the assembly election of Bihar, where it so convincingly trumped its senior party, JDU, yet, in a show of rare humility brought about by the spirit of triumphalism couched in the expression of modesty, handed over the chief ministership to Nitish Kumar, while ensuring that his wings are absolutely clipped. Significantly, in the wake of a decisive mandate in its favour, the buoyant BJP, intoxicated by its own fanciful invincibility, has been proceeding confidently to capture West Bengal, in the impending election of 2021.

Also, emboldened by its Modi magic, the BJP, which is in cloud nine, eyes its expansion in South India, especially Hyderabad, wherer Amit Shah’s latest visit is any indication, BJP is sending a signal to the larger voters that, by extending a direct challenge to Owaisi’s AIMIM, in its bastion, it is dispelling the notion that BJP has no complicity or any secret understanding with Owaisi, as Mamata Banerjee and others have come to allege. But then whatever the reality, if BJP is dallying with Owaisi, it is only taking the nation towards the unforeseen consequences. However, the moot point is : What is the secret underlying cause behind this rapid expansion? Why BJP has been successful in selling itself before the Hindus by and large that it is the protector of Hindus against its formidable foe, Muslims. Consequently, nothing sells with Hindus if the frightening fear is injected in them that if they failed to unite behind the BJP, Gazwa e Hind dream of Muslim fanatics will attain fruition. In other words, it is the Muslim phobia that purportedly unites Hindus behind BJP and its mascot, Narendra Modi. Now the crucial question: Why this fear of being eventually conquered by the proliferating Muslim population that so enormously has injected a dread in Hindus which has suddenly made them an eventual prey to the marauding Muslim ambition of converting India into another Islamistan, especially when such a deadly fear was completely absent before 2014, or even if such a remote feeling existed, it was a peripheral one, far removed from the national mainstream? Why would, and all of a sudden, Hindus discover Muslims living next door, as their potential enemy and vice versa, when no deadly communal riots had happened in the recent years to engender such a communal frenzy on both sides?

Interestingly, to inject communal poison in the polity, to widen the social gulf, to turn Hindus as the potential enemies of Muslims and vice versa, a deep rooted conspiratorial overtone has come to assume its preponderence in the pyramid of policy making. In this Corporate-politician nexus brought about by the crony capitalism gaining an overwhelming ascendancy, the national interest has regressively taken a back side, with self-aggrandizement of crony capitalism getting so expediently blended with the self-serving mission of the politicians, the nation needed some sort of frenzy for their own preoccupation. Hence, Hindu-Muslim divide by orchestrating the fear of eventual Muslim domination over Hindus, can prove to be pivotal for the polarisation of BJP behind its only saviour, the BJP. And in their clever stratagem to discover a potential enemy for Hindu consolidation, the only potential challenger, Congress, is to be painted with green. Congress, painted with green, was skillfully designated as the potential saviours of Muslims or the Muslim voice, BJP alone remained the voice of collective Hindu aspiration. Incidentally, in the process of proclaiming itself as the saviour and custodian of Hindus’ rights, BJP, orchestrating a Machiavellian strategy, dubbed itself as synonymous with that of advancing national interest. No wonder anyone questioning Modi’s stand, was outright dubbed by the Modi admirers and BJP as the traitors, especially Modi government’s strategic blunders on the security front. Significantly, the new security treaty between Pakistan and China on the one hand, and China and Nepal on the other, is the latest vindication of the fact that how Modi government’s Neighbourhood First policy has come a cropper.

Notwithstanding all the propaganda of godi media, blowing India’s military might all the time, its propaganda day in and day out that, in the event of war breaking out with China and Pakistan, India will be able to take on both, the reality is starkly different: India is no match to China today, and with the strength of Pakistan and China added to it, India stands nowhere. Ironically, we have lost all our close neighbours to China. India had remained subjugated for over eight hundred years. While Persia, which was attacked by Muslim invaders, became a Muslim country. It is currently known as Iran. Nonetheless, India, despite centuries of Mutual’s rule, despite its section of populace getting converted under the brutality of persecution, yet Hinduism remained intact.

Although Hindus should draw a lesson from its centuries of persecution, it is a fallacy to pander to the hubristic proclamation of BJP as the saviour of Hindus. Hinduism needs no saviour, in fact, a cultural nationalism is required to consolidate Hindus, however BJP’s arrogance in arrogating to itself the role of being the arbiter of Hindus’ destiny, is absolutely untenable.

The latest observation coming from Rajju Bhaiya that Hindus remain as such even though they do not support BJP is tantamount to puncturing the hubris of BJP. Unequivocally, Hindus need another political choice that shows them the righteous path and endeavours to bridge this ever widening gap between Hindus and Muslims. Significantly, BJP’s divisive agenda has already triggered two different India staying within. Hence in this backdrop, the corporate-politician nexus to create the social divide and in that ensuing feast of frenzy, privatise the national resources, sell the national resources to few corporate houses, cannot be an eyewash to the billion of Indians. No wonder BJP’s propaganda of being the representatives of Hindus, sooner than later, will fail to resonate with the vast section of Hindus.
