Tripathi Warns of Revolt Over Chure Destruction in “Public Awareness Campaign”

The Federal Democratic Front held a major political gathering in Siyari, Rupandehi on 21st Shrawan 2082 (August 6, 2025), under the title “Public Awareness Campaign” to discuss the current political situation. The program was chaired by Resham Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party.

Top leaders from the alliance addressed the event, including Rajendra Mahato, Hridayesh Tripathi, Resham Chaudhary, Brishes Chandra Lal, Ram Kumar Sharma, Santosh Pandey, Keshav Jha, Dr. Shivji Yadav, and Om Prakash Yadav.

Mahato Calls Coalition “Unnatural and Corrupt”

Speaking at the program, Rajendra Mahato, President of the Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal, called the current ruling coalition “unnatural,” alleging it was formed only to loot the nation and cover up wrongdoing. He termed it a “scandal-ridden government.” Referring to the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi-3, he said it is not an ordinary election but a test for the 2084 general election — one that will decide whether their political existence continues or ends. He also stated that the election would determine whether oppressed communities would continue to live as slaves or rise as owners of the nation.

Tripathi Warns of Revolt Over Chure Destruction

Hridayesh Tripathi, President of the Janata Pragatisheel Party, expressed concerns over environmental degradation, saying, “Although the country belongs to us, state power never came into our hands.” He warned that if laws promoting destruction of the Chure forest were passed, it would provoke a public uprising, as the destruction of Chure would be a blow to civilization.

Resham Chaudhary: “This By-Election Is Not a Game”

Resham Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, emphasized the need for victory in the upcoming by-election. He remarked that the Tharu community had shown trust in the Madhesi leadership in the past, and this time, there was no room for playing games — the election must be won at any cost.

Other Leaders Voice Strong Demands

Brishes Chandra Lal, President of TMLP, demanded the immediate release of the Lal Commission report.

Ram Kumar Sharma, General Secretary of JSP-Nepal, reminded attendees of the roots of the Madhes uprising and stressed unity among all oppressed communities for liberation.

Santosh Pandey, LSP leader and provincial minister, pledged full support for the front’s common candidate in the by-election.

Nationwide Campaign Announced

The Federal Democratic Front announced that it would launch its Public Awareness Campaign in eight different locations across the country in the coming days.
