Manoja Banaita, Siraha, September 28 : The supreme leader of Samajbadi Party, Sarita Giri said, “Madhesh is the vertebrae of democracy in Nepal. The vertebrae is under constant attack since the year 2062 but not broken yet. The process of disenfranchising madhshis is the prime step under 2072 constitution. The next will be destroying the forests and the fnal step will be taking control of damaged and dying soil . A new kind of imperialism has arisen on the horizon. The new wave of imperialism has ideolgical face. Socialism and prosperity are the flagships . The goal is the same and that is the Colonization and destruction of madhesh.”
she would continue her fight for Madhesi empowerment and protection of human rights and crusade against discrimination. She said “she would work with intellectuals and organisations that shared her thoughts.”
Sarita Giri, a leader of Madhesh has remarked that the neo-republic rulers had removed the institution of monarchy with the plan of weakening the Madheshis. She has opined that as all the treaties and agreements on Madhesh were held with the Nepali monarchy, the final talks have to be held with the monarchy.
Being optimistic she says, “Hills may surrender their freedom and sovereignty for comfort, Terai will not. Freedom runs in the blood and mind.”
