
Kathmandu, 29th August. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has informed the House of Representatives about his official visit to China later this week. Addressing Friday’s parliamentary session, he announced that he will embark on a five-day trip from August 30 to September 3.
Oli stated that he will lead the Nepali delegation to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, where he is scheduled to present Nepal’s perspectives and priorities.
According to the Prime Minister, the visit will also include bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vice President Han Zheng. On the sidelines of the SCO Summit, Oli will also engage with heads of state and government from other friendly nations to discuss issues of bilateral and mutual concern.
Additionally, he is set to attend the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory in the Anti-Fascist War and resistance against Japanese aggression, being organized in Beijing.
Expressing confidence ahead of the trip, Oli said the visit would further strengthen Nepal–China relations and help clearly project Nepal’s priorities on the international stage.
