Federal Democratic Front Holds “Public Awareness Campaign” at Kailali in Nepal.

Kailali, August 9, 2025. The Federal Democratic Front organized a “Public Awareness Campaign” program in Sukhad, Ghodighoda, Kailali, addressing the current political situation. The event was chaired by Resham Chaudhary, patron of the Citizens’ Liberation Party, with Mahantha Thakur, chairman of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal, as the chief guest. Top leaders of the Front delivered speeches during the program.

Prominent leaders, including Mahantha Thakur, Resham Chaudhary, Keshav Jha, Vidyut Bajracharya, Upendra Upadhyay, Phoniram Tharu, Dan Bahadur Bishwakarma, Gangaram Tharu, and Indira Giri, among others, shared their views.

**Mahantha Thakur’s Address**
Mahantha Thakur, chairman of LSP Nepal, stated that hundreds of Tharu and Madheshi individuals have sacrificed their lives for rights and identity, yet these communities still lack their due rights. He remarked, “Just as the people rejected and toppled the monarchy, the current ruling system can also be overthrown in an instant if the people desire it.” Thakur emphasized that although federalism has been implemented in the country, oppressed communities have not received their rights. He described the Front as a platform formed for struggle.

**Resham Chaudhary’s Statement**
Resham Chaudhary, patron of the Citizens’ Liberation Party, said the Front was established to unite Tharus, Madheshis, and other oppressed communities. He highlighted the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi as a test for the Front, stressing the need to win at all costs. Chaudhary also noted that discrimination and injustice have been faced due to their Tharu identity.

**Keshav Jha’s Views**
Keshav Jha, general secretary of the National Liberation Party, stated that the colonial mindset of the government has left Nepal’s 30 million people unhappy. He explained that the Front was formed after significant efforts to fulfill the aspirations of oppressed communities and urged against any conspiracies to weaken it. Jha emphasized the Front’s necessity for political stability, rights, identity, constitutional amendments, and economic progress.

**Vidyut Bajracharya’s Address**
Vidyut Bajracharya, vice-chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, said that for the past 250–300 years, the ruling class has governed by dividing oppressed communities. He noted that the Front was formed to unite those advocating for identity.

**Upendra Upadhyay’s Statement**
Upendra Upadhyay, leader of the Janata Progressive Party, stated that the Front was established to end the growing corruption and misgovernance in the country.

**Cultural Performances and Nationwide Campaign**
The program featured various dance performances showcasing Tharu culture, captivating the audience. The Federal Democratic Front is conducting a nationwide public awareness campaign to further its objectives.
