Murli Manohar Tiwari (sipu),New Delhi, October 15. India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has prohibited the carriage of a specific power bank model, MOBIKINS MK-PB-04, on flights operating within, to and from India following a reported fire incident aboard an IndiGo aircraft.
The restriction, issued through Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC) No. 14/2026, applies to cabin baggage, checked baggage and cargo.
Nepal Airlines has also issued a notice informing passengers about the restriction on its India-bound and India-originating flights.
Importantly, the prohibition does not apply to all power banks. Passengers may continue carrying other permitted models, subject to existing airline safety regulations governing lithium-ion batteries.
Travellers flying between Nepal and India are advised to check their power bank model and airline baggage requirements before departure.
