Kathmandu, October 18: A large number of devotees gathered at Kathmandu’s Maitidevi Temple from early Sunday morning to offer prayers on the occasion of Maha Ashtami, the eighth day of Nepal’s biggest Hindu festival, Bada Dashain.
Devotees visited the temple to worship Goddess Durga and seek blessings for happiness, peace, prosperity and the well-being of their families.
Special worship rituals dedicated to Durga Bhawani were performed at the temple. Traditional religious ceremonies and animal sacrifice rituals, observed as part of Maha Ashtami celebrations, also marked the occasion.
Maha Ashtami holds significant religious importance during Bada Dashain, with devotees across Nepal visiting temples and Shakti Peethas to offer prayers and participate in traditional rituals.
