PABSON, Siraha holds 8th general conventions

Manoj Banaita, Lahan, January 18 : Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON) Siraha held its 8th general convention in Lahan.

Addressing the inaugural session of PABSON’s assembly, the chief guest MP of province 2, Ashok Yadav claimed that the government is serious to address the problems in education sector

The assembly urged the government to revoke the discriminatory law that prevents private school students to get scholarship in their higher education.

The government has recently brought the bill concerning education which is completly full of discrimination . The government has allocated the quotas for higher studies to the students of community schools.

PABSON also demanded its representation in all government-recognised educational bodies, implementation of the ‘School as Zone of Peace’ declaration

The assembly demanded monitoring of government schools that have been charging fees in the name of adopting English as the medium of instruction. Further, it demanded that private school students be allowed to appear in the government scholarship exams in universities.

The convention started on the presidency of Lal babu Ray and the welcome speech had been given by senior vice president, Umesh Chaudhary. The programme was hosted by the secretary of Siraha PABSON, Umesh Yadav. The special guests of the convention programme were central Vice president of PABSON, Ishwor gurung, chief of National Examination Board Lahan, Pushkar Khanal, central secretary of PABSON, R.B Katuwal, Provincial chief Murari Prasad Sah, district advisor Shankar Prasad Gupta, Rakesh Jha, president of N- PABSON Siraha, Pradip Tiwari, Youth leader of Nepali Congress, Ram Ganesh Das, and leader of Nepal Communist party, Satyanarayan Yadav

A total of 250 representatives from around 165 private schools across the district have participated in the PABSON assembly.
