Crores are being spent on advertisements for presenting false data of pollution by Kejriwal : Vijay Goel

New Delhi, 16th September.  Addressing a Press Conference held at Delhi BJP Office, former Delhi BJP President and former Union Minister Shri Vijay Goel said that Kejriwal failed to do anything to prevent pollution in Delhi during the last 55 months and now in order to cover up his failures he is staging a political drama of odd-even system whereas the The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and EPCA found that Odd-Even system has not been effective in curbing pollution in Delhi. The way in which Kejriwal Government is implementing it will not prove to be effective in controlling pollution. Kejriwal is misleading the people by showing the low pollution level of Leutyen Zone whereas this zone comes under the New Delhi Municipal Council. Media Incharge Shri Pratyush Kanth, Media Head Shri Ashok Goel Devraha were present on this occasion.

Showing the false data published in newspapers by the Kejriwal Government Shri Vijay Goel said that Kejriwal is showing PM-2.5 level at 115 whereas the PM-2.5 level is at 128 in Delhi. Kejriwal has referred to the Lutyen Zone where the pollution level is lower and in most of the areas of Delhi, a level of pollution is quite different. He has not mentioned about PM-10 and this way he is misleading the people. Kejriwal did not do anything for about five years and now in the end of his tenure he has started distributing freebees but the people of Delhi are now going to make Delhi free from Kejriwal. Corruption of crores is committed through odd-even system and Delhi has to suffer instead of getting any benefit from it. Last time when the Odd-Even was implemented, the NGT had pointed out that the two wheelers should not have been exempted. In this situation, there is scarcity of alternative arrangements in Delhi. Delhi needs 20,000 buses but DTC has only 3000 buses and out of this many buses are out of order.

Terming the odd-even as political stunt, Shri Goel said that in the report of Review Committee formed for the prevention of pollution, it has been recommended that smog free towers should be installed, rapid rail introduced, dust free roads developed, vaccum cleaners used for the roads, cycle track and footpaths be developed in Delhi but Kejriwal Government has not done any work out of it. He is wasting crores of the money of the taxpayers on advertisements to mislead the people of Delhi for his political gain. He said that Kejriwal had announced about installing air purifier and sprinklers on roads but he did not do anything during the last four years. In Global Liveability Index also, Delhi has gone down from 112th to 118th position.

Shri Goel further said that after coming to power at centre, Modi Government started fight against pollution in the year, 2014 itself and working since then. Due to the policies adopted by Modi Government, pollution has been continuously decreasing which includes decrease in the level of PM-2.5 and PM-10.  Central Government worked hard to introduce BS-6 Petro-Diesel vehicles. Petrol for BS-6 vehicles are available now and these vehicles will also available in the market from 1st April, 2020. With the help of these steps taken by Central Government, pollution will go down by 80% in Delhi. Modi Government completed the construction of 135 km Eastern Peripheral Express Way (Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, Palwal and Kondli) and 135 km Western Peripheral Express way (Kundali, Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Palwal) and Stage-1 of the Meerut Express Way has been completed. The second phase will be completed within the next four months. After the construction of expressway 60,000 heavy vehicles are now being diverted and not entering Delhi.

Shri Goel said that Kejriwal is himself pollution from which Delhi is going to become free. He said that within the next two years, Delhi will be made pollution free. If Government at Centre and Delhi are from the same party then all the pending works will be expedited and new works will progress.
