Strong Demonstration against Chinese encroachment in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Youth organization affiliated to the Democratic Socialist Party led by Mahant Thakur demonstrated strongly against China for allegedly encroaching on this country’s land along the Nepal-China border  in Kathmandu on Tuesday . Around 200 members of the Democratic Youth Association, led by Dhwaja Maan Moktan, demonstrated in Kathmandu Maitighar Mandla.  They waved posters that read ‘Return our captured land.’ They also Demanded that the government should make public the report of a committee set up to study alleged land encroachment by China up to Hilsa in Humla district.

The committee was recently constituted by the government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on China’s land encroachment. However, the government has not yet released the report. It is alleged that China occupied Nepal’s land and built nine buildings in Humla last year. The Chinese embassy recently issued a statement claiming that there is no border problem between Nepal and China.
