Last week an engineer working in a Chinese company and a Chinese employee had reached the Secretary of the Ministry of Forest Industry and Tourism of the State Government and were requesting him to allow them to set up a crusher plant in Kamala. Our apprehension has been proved true by this handiwork of China Company that the real purpose of China is not development but destruction.
China’s presence in Kamala is a security challenge for India.
The space allotted to China is also a very sensitive issue from geopolitical and strategic point of view. Geographically, the area of Nanda Baba Community Forest Area is surrounded by mountains and it is the junction of four important border districts of Nepal Dhanusha, Sirha Udaipur and Sindhuli. Indian security agencies fear that this geographically important place can be misused by China. If China puts a ground station of its beidou navigation system in this sensitive area, then major security challenges can arise for India.
The decision of the Ministry of Industries, Forests and Tourism is being questioned because despite the availability of sufficient vacant land at dozens of places for storage near the East West Highway, why is the storage center being built in the Kamala river. ?
Local people protest against Chinese company—
Here the protest against the work being done by the local people in Kamala for the wrong purpose has started. Bikram Yadav the convener of Kamala Bachao Abhiyan an organization working on Kamala conservation has told Himalini that we are ready to go from the High Court to the Supreme Court and at any cost there should be no excavation and exploitation of river-borne materials from Kamala. we will do whatever it takes to save it.
In the midst of strong opposition from the local people and organizations against the conspiracies of the Chinese company in the Kamala river, the important question is whether the Chinese conspiracy in Kamala fails or succeeds? Now it remains to be seen whether the license given to the Chinese construction company by the government of State 2 is canceled or not ?
