C.G.I. Birgunj organised a talk on the topic ‘Seasonal Regimen and Guidelines for Meal’


Birgunj (Nepal). As part of celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (India@ 75), the Consulate General of India in Birgunj organised a talk on the topic ‘Seasonal Regimen and Guidelines for Meal’ in the Consulate on 24 September, 2022. The talk was delivered by Dr. Manish Singh, BAMS, MD (Ayurveda) and Chairperson of Shri Sitaram Trust, Janakpurdham. About 60 persons from media, civil societies, medical profession, business houses from Birgunj and members of the Consulate participated in the programme.

In his opening remarks Shri Nitesh Kumar, Consul General highlighted the importance of health in life and suggested to follow all strategies to remain fit and healthy. He also disclosed that a series of programmes on Ayurveda will be organised by the Consulate in the coming days.

Dr. Manish Singh, in his elaborate talk, illustrated various facets of Ayurveda and maintained that Ayurveda was the science which dealt with the study of ‘Ayu’ which is the union of ‘sarira’ (body), ‘indriya’ (senses), mana (heart) and ‘atma’ (soul). He expressed that the aim of Ayurveda was to protect health of healthy people and to treat the ill people. He elucidated in detail the types of food to be taken in various seasons and manners to remain healthy. He asserted that Ayurveda does not only prescribes medicines but also educates people about food habit, exercise, behaviour, thought process, friend circle etc.

The talk was followed by a “Question and Answer” session. The programme was very useful, informative and successful.
