Will Modi re-write the glory of Pushyamitra Shung?

Will Narendra Modi step into the Shoes of Pushyamitra Shung to restore the glory of Sanatan yet again, especially when external hostile forces and the avalanche of internal contradiction staring nakedly to subsume Sanatan in its ugly tentacles?

Pushyamitra Shung

Vivekanand Jha Ranchi: Closeted with a Buddhist monk in Bodh Gaya, the citadel of Lord Buddha, the consecrated place where Buddha had reached his stage of salvation, I had engaged myself in getting enlightened about Buddhism from the mouth of a Buddhist monk. Unequivocally, Gautam Buddha, being my idol, a living god–greatest human being born over millennia–i had embarked on my sunlit pilgrimage to meditate on Gayatri Mantra, sitting at the same place where Siddhartha had transformed himself into Buddha. Interestingly, the Bodh Bhikku, in all his earnestness, had sought to enlighten me on Buddha in no ambiguous terms: ‘ Buddha’, the Bhikku said, ‘ had introduced himself as a Sanatani; he never sought to carve out a distinct and special religion as being trumpeted about by the Buddhist of contemporary times’. ‘ Also,’ the Buddhist monk had sought to further educate me, ‘ Almost ninty nine percent of monks here and Buddha’s followers believe in some super natural power behind this whole Creation’. And, if this be true, whereas there is no ground for musing scepticism, the very underlying doctrine of Buddha, based on atheism, stands comprehensively usurped, for Buddha’s timeless thought is purportedly sought to be premised upon atheism, is apparently blown into smithereens by his own followers.

Narendra Modi into the shoes of Pushyamitra Shung.

Significantly, century after Buddha had left for the transcendental world, his misled followers seeking a special recognition, had mischievously declared themselves as a distinct religion, apart from Santan. Regressively indeed, the notorious Communists, in collusion with an iconoclast, Jawaharlal, whose love for Edwina, the wife of Mountbatten, was overwhelmingly more than that of his love for the nation–how Nehru had hurriedly organised a condolence ceremony of Edwina who died in some island–was the root cause for India’s degeneration and its deracination from the moorings of Bharatvarsha.

Pushyamitra Shung.
A valiant Brahmin emperor of Bharatvarsha who restored the glory of Sanatan Dharma.

India, in the wake of independence, where the power was seized by those who basked in the new found glory of being elevated to the new elite English speaking class, disdainfully sought to write obituary of the pristine glory of the erstwhile Bharatvarsha. Unequivocally, such unscrupulous bunch of jokers who gained fame as historians like Romila Thapar, D.N. Jha, Irfan Habib, had the solitary mission: to belittle the Sanatan glory in this new independent India. Thus, Irfan Habib’s dubbing of great Chhatrapati Shivaji as the ‘ mountain rat’, and D.N.Jha’s malicious propaganda to masquerade the blatant lies of Brahmins in the ancient India eating beef, is the vindication of the humongous conspiracy to convert India into another Islamic nation. Incidentally, there could hardly be any truism for the nation to ponder: how the creation of Pakistan as the Islamic nation was only the half story, as the moves were afoot to convert the fragmented Bharatvarsha into another Islamic nation, over the passage of decades. Apt it is here to say that, how, on account of a massive complicity between the Nehruvian acolytes and that of rogue Communist historians, a propaganda was institutionalised in the polity: to feed us uninterruptedly the names of the Mughal rulers from that of Babur to Bahadur Shah Jafar 2 as if they were the names of our gods.

With the benefits of hindsight, few facts prominently come to our mind: how historians, in their ulterior motive, had sought to designate emperor Ashoka, the killer of tens of thousands of people and, his very transformation into a Buddhist, in the wake of Kalinga War as a peacenik, he overnight became great, irrespective of the fact that he jettisoned all the violence, arms and ammunitions, and emasculated the power of the state. The deterioration of Magadha, in the wake of Ashoka’s degeneration into a peacenik, had taken a heavy toll on the geographical boundary of erstwhile Bharatvarsha: The nation jettisoning arms and ammunition and taking to trumpeting peace, invariably fell casualty to the repeated invasions for millennia, for abandoning violence when your neighbours haven’t, is an open invitation for your self- destruction. Small wonder then, Mahmood of Ghazni invading Somnath temple time and time again, had its moorings in Ashoka’s embracing of peace and non- violence as the policy of the state. Worse still, Ashoka’s embracing Buddhism, even though was his individual choice, his extension of patronage to the massive spread of Buddhism, breaking temples and converting Sanatanis into Buddhism, was the unambiguous fraud which was perpetrated upon the nation–The unwarranted switchover of the people from that of Sanatanis into Buddhists by sheer coercion and violence, was the massive transgression of sequestering the nation from its moorings.

The historians, ever conspiring against Sanatan Civilisation, in their own wisdom, or utter lack of it, whereas magnified the overwhelming importance of Mughal rule, almost brushed aside the resplendent glory of Sanatan under the carpet: how Pushpamitra Shung, the Brahmin ruler of Magadha, by his glorious deeds sought to re-establish Sanatan values. Pushyamitra Shung, who defended the border of erstwhile Bharatvarsha from the external invasions and internal rebellion, much like Chandragupta Maurya, unjustifiably though was sought to be banished from the pages of history; alloting him few peripheral space in the pages of history. Moreover, the role of Pushyamitra Shung, who killed Brihadratha, the last Maurian ruler, was the personification of bravery and the courage of conviction: his valiant role to restore the glory of Sanatan Dharma has been mischievously exorcised from the pages of history. Also, the massive conspiracy of leftist against Brahmins, found its expression in dwarfing the behemoth of persona of that of a Brahmin king who retrieved the geographical boundary of Bharatvarsha from the diabolical clutches of spreading the degenerative values of Buddhism–Buddhism had already lost much of its sheen by then, and had reduced itself as the atrocious religion of worst order. No wonder, the architect of new dawn, Pushyamitra Shunga, the valiant Brahmin king, was the harbinger of the new dawn for ushering in a renaissance of restoring the pristine values of Sanatan yet again in the geographical boundary of Bharatvarsha, despite Buddhism had its entrenched routes across the nook and corner of this nation.

Much like the time of Pushyamitra Shunga, India today is on the cusp of negotiating its existential crises: The Islamisation, along with Christianity and Buddhism yet again, are raring their ugly heads to gobble up the Sanatanis in its ever extended tentacles. In this critical times, the entry of Narendra Modi in Delhi Durbar, and that of Yogi Adityanath in UP, are provincially decreed: to extricate India from the quagmire of Sanatan losing its essence; losing its raison d’etre and summum bonum. Significantly, challenges for Sanatan appears to be unprecedented, for the forces–both external and internal, in collusion with each other–are seeking to upend the polity. Thus the challenges before Modi is almost the same: whether he can bite the bullet to rise to this historic occasion to cement the stranglehold of Hindus over the polity or be subsumed by the unconscionable level of pulls and pressure to cannibalise Sanatan in the whirlpool of Islamic invasion yet again. Moreover, with Jai Bhim and Jai Mim dancing nakedly along with the barbarity gesticulating in such cries like, ‘ Sar tan se juda’, the poignancy of challenges before Modi stands magnified. But then, Narendra Modi had shown that he is not the one to buckle under any pressure–the abrogation of Article 370 and CAA are the two steely resolve that Modi had exhibited before the whole world. Hence against this backdrop, the nation is awaiting to see that, how Modi introduces Uniform Civil Code in Parliament to re-define the national trajectories which Nehruvian India had sought to hijack it towards alienating it from the nation’s raison d’etre. Narendra Modi’s donning the role of Pushyamitra Shung is the clarion call of our times and era. Will Modi do it, the nation believes he will.
