New Delhi, Tuesday, October 28, 2025: Two distinguished names in India’s para sports movement — international para cricketer and coach Sangeet Chauhan from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and Mahendra Singh from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh — were honoured in the national capital for their exemplary role in promoting inclusive sports, especially para cricket.
Both the athletes were felicitated at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia by author Prof. S.S. Dogra, Founder of Creatives World Media Academy.
Highlighting their accomplishments, Prof. Dogra noted that Sangeet, who is also the Founder of the Para Cricket Club of India, and Mahendra, General Secretary of the Modern Pythian Games, stand as inspiring figures for thousands of aspiring para athletes across the country.
“Their determination and commitment prove that sporting excellence knows no physical limitations,” he said, lauding the duo for breaking barriers and strengthening the voice of para athletes in India.
Both awardees expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue working towards creating greater opportunities and visibility for para sports nationwide.
