The newly built Sita Pushp Vatika, constructed at a cost of NPR 180 million within the ancient Manimandap premises of Janakpurdham, was inaugurated by Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said that the ancient Manimandap is a center of faith for millions of Hindus. The construction of this site aims to enhance Janakpurdham as a religious, cultural, and tourist destination. He emphasized that the Sita Pushp Vatika, situated within the Manimandap premises, is the wedding site of Goddess Sita and Lord Ram — an identity that should be recognized on a global scale. He called for cooperation from the federal, provincial, and local governments for its further development.

Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, highlighted that Janakpurdham already enjoys international recognition, drawing a large number of tourists from both India and Nepal. He urged the central government to take more initiatives for its development.

The Sita Pushp Vatika includes a marriage hall, two dharmashalas (pilgrims’ rest houses), and several other buildings. The site was initially prioritized by former Minister for Urban Development, Prabhu Sah.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Janakpurdham Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah, former mayor Bajrang Prasad Sah, and several other dignitaries.
