Vivekanand Jha Ranchi: Significantly, the lofty philosophy as espoused by Vedas, which claim to integrate the universe : Vasudaiv Kutumbakam and ‘ Atithi devo Bhavah, with the passage of time, had proved to be the undoing for the matchless Sanatan Dharma. It is this exalted thought, which from Swami Vivekananda to Narendra Modi-While Swami Vivekananda had invoked it in the World Parliament of Religions, way back in 1893, Narendra Modi, who considers himself no less than Vivekananda, if not gteater–had sought to showcase India’s glory by invoking the same doctrine in his speech in the United Nations in 2019. Unfortunately, based on this lofty ideals that we burnt out own houses and provided refuge to the homeless Parsisi when they fled Persia after Muslims invasion. In fact, the entire universe is one, is the realisation of Yogis, in their state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi where the stage of Aham Brahamasmi is attained, it certainly cannot be the conceptualization at the pragmatic level when, by losing our own substratum, we allow the trespassers to make mockery of our inordinate liberalism by inviting others to sit on our heads, paradoxically we did that. In our utter naivete we allowed Rohangyas Muslims, driven away by Myanmar military junta, to stay in our country and, even though we were little reluctant in upholding the high ideal of ‘ Atithi Devo Bhavah’, our Muslims brethren, intoxicated as they are with their Islamic brotherhood, were prepared to hold rallies and demonstrations across India to force us to accept our inherent doctrine of ‘ Atithi Devo Bhavah’ by accepting the undesirable guests. Significantly, our Muslim brethren greeted the eviction of Kashmir Pundits, from their motherland of Kashmir, with a deafening silence. Should the nation allow itself to be held hostage to this glaring duplicity which is so starkly ostensible to one and all? No, the urgent rectification of our intrinsic asymmetrical sense of buyancy is required at a fire fighting mode.
Whereas the greatest oriental thinkers like great Swami Vivekananda, Yogiraj Rishi Aurobindo, Swami Dayanandjee and great Veer Savarkar had already spent years on this bedevilling conundrum, yet the sensitivity and the significance of the issue has refused to leave my mind space as the spectre of the most galling centuries still hold the prospect of returning with even a greater overdose of vengeance in the decades to come if the nation, especially the majority community, fails to learn the lessons from the past. Significantly, the deluge of such stream of thoughts continued to cause an indefinable revulsion in me for a decade or more, as the moot question intermittently bombarded me with its own stinginess: Why would the land of Vedas and Upanishads, that so profoundly deal with the myriad aspects of Creation, fall casualty to the vicious circle of an engulfing doom for almost a millennium, if not more? Why would a civilisation, which Swami Vivekananda had so poignantly portrayed as the most ancient and evolved, which even taught the mankind about God and His Creation, when the Western civilisation was in cradle, fell victim to the shenanigans of far lesser mortals, is the perplextity that has been bedevilling me for a long time? No wonder as a thinker, in my own microcosmic level, with the worshipful devotion for the greatest of thinkers as aforementioned, i too have found certain reasons and explanations for dissecting the root cause of India’s drifting into its own regression despite being the Jagatguru at the first stage.

Bhagvad Gita, an eternal scripture, upholds the validity of underlying cause of one’s own preservation by taking recourse to the dubious means that human ingenuity can dare to comprehend. In this context, even Yudhistira had agreed to lie, when he wilfully said, Aswasthama hato naro ba Gunjaro'(Ashwasthama dead whether man or an elephant) when Lord Krishna blew his conch to drain his last utterance. It was, unfortunately, the lesson Prithviraj Chouhan when, throwing all the eternal Bhagvad Gita into winds, he refused to chase his enemy, Mohamad Ghori, who was severely injured and fleeing from the battlefield. Alas, Prithviraj had chased and liquidated Ghori, Indian history would not have been that of an abysmal shame and disgrace!
