When Brahmins are the pivots of Sanatan Dharma

The selective targeting of Brahmins for all the ills afflicting Sanatan Dharma today, is symptomatic of the global conspiracy to kill the Sanatan Civilisation.

Vivekanand Jha Ranchi: Suddenly I came across an inscription which valourised the glory of Brahmins, the most vulnerable section of people facing the ceaseless onslaught from everywhere for the apparent deficiencies and shortcomings of Sanatan Dharma. Worse still, the Brahmins today are standing at the crossroad of society; in fact, perched on the social periphery, condescendingly reduced to the status of pariah in their very country, the country of Sanatan Dharma, for preservation of which Brahmins, more than any other castes, continued to wage the crusades in different times and eras. However, as the deluge of posts inundating the social networking sites are any indication, a systematic anti- Brahmin propaganda of an unconscionable degree, has been orchestrated to isolate Brahmins and render them technically impotent to prevent their voice from gaining currency or traction with the greater community of Hindus. Regrettably, Brahmins today are the real untouchables, with the state benefits has almost become a taboo for them. Further, the Reservation policy purportedly considered to be the new dawn for the so- called backward castes, comprising of Dalits and Maha Dalits, has already proven to be the final nail in the coffin of the remnant of hope and aspiration which Brahmins could have nurtured to get into the government jobs or to live with dignity: Brahmins across India, is sought to be reduced to an inconsequential state of deprivation where none cares for them, yet gloat over the fact that Brahmins should be reduced to the state of pariah, a heathen class of people having no takers in their own country; die their most ignominiously deserving gradual death, for the Hindus to feel liberated from their whimsical, Brahminical tyranny, Brahmins must perish from the earth.

Adi Shankaracharya, considered to have revived the Sanatan Dharma.

But then, do Brahmins genuinely deserve this form of deplorable treatment meted out to them by the brethren of their own community? a question deeply perturbed me. Incidentally, the recollection of an incident from the past, inundated my mind space: how Madan Mohan Malviya, the then freedom fighter and Congress leader from Benares, had conceptualised an educational institute of excellence, which could uplift the society from the acute ignorance. In this context, in order to collect donation for giving a tangible shape to his vision, he went to meet a prominent businessman of that era. As he arrived at his office, he was informed that the businessman had gone out. He awaited his return while sitting in his office. After an hour the businessman arrived. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya could hear the voice of businessman scolding his servant for wasting the matchsticks for lighting wicks. The shrillness of the voice emerging from the room, injected a sense of despondency in Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, as the foreboding sense of having come for a meeting with a profound optimism, purportedly ran the risk of getting scuttled at the altar of the scroogish mindset of the businessman. The question repeatedly harangued him: Will this miser businessman, who left no stone unturned in trashing his servant for wasting few matchsticks, would at all have the large heartedness to donate for his altruistic mission? Panditjee wondered. In the meanwhile, Panditjee was ushered in. A while later when Panditjee broached the purpose of his visit to the businessman, that he intended to open a huge university for educating the society. His surprise knew no limits when the businessman took his checkbook, scribbled a certain amount and handed over the cheque to him. Lo and behold! the sum of money scribbled there in the checkbook was rupees ten lakh. Suddenly the eyes of Panditjee twinkled; he seldom expected the businessman whom he overheard, was severely castigating his servant for wasting few matchsticks, would prove to be such largehearted in terms of donating for a noble cause, was beyond his expectations. The businessman, meanwhile, politely contended that if Panditjee needed more money, he should approach him without any hesitation. Elated with this unexpected act of generosity, Panditjee, on the verge of leaving the room, hesitated for a while, his inability to reconcile the contradictory exhibition of two different mindsets at two different situations of the man he was having an audience with–the businessman lashing out at his servant for being lax in wasting a few more matchsticks than what was required, and his contrarian act of beneficence in donating the hefty sum of ten lakh rupees–beggared his belief that how a man who could not stand the wastage of few matchsticks, could dare exhibit the act of such stupendous benevolence? Summing up the courage, Panditjee sought to know about this apparent dichotomy in the behavioral pattern of the businessman being inordinately harsh with his servant for few matchsticks, while being overwhelmingly generous with him? The businessman replied, ‘ Look, Panditjee, when you sought donation for something so special for the amelioration of our society by building a huge university, it is for the good of humanity, where I should donate as generously as I could; however, the amount of money I could donate, was the result of hard struggle, where by saving every single penny I could reach to this height. Thus i felt that where one matchstick was sufficient, needlessly few more were wasted, whereas in your case, I naturally felt that I should go overboard to donate to the best of my capacity, hence, I proposed further that if you needed more money, you should come to me without any hesitation’. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya’s visionary leadership role has resulted in honing the best of human resources from the premier university, BHU in Benaras, every year. A brahmin contributing immeasurably towards the nation building, having fewest of parallels in the history of nation building.

Chanakya, a great Brahmin thinker.

My mind dug deepee into the ancient India, when the Sanatan Dharma faced its daunting existential challenges from Buddhism and Jainism. There again rose another Brahmin, Adi Shankaracharya to restore the glory of Sanatan Dharma from the jaws of an impending extinction. Chanakya, another Brahmin, has resoundingly contributed towards giving the concept of Bharatvarsha–‘ Himalay se kanyakumari tak ka pag pag ka bhumi hamari apni hai'( Every inch of our land, from Himalaya to Kanyakumari belongs to us). Moreover, Chanakya’s precondition to Seleucus before the marriage of the latter’s daughter with Chandragupta Maurya, that her son borne from Chandragupta Maurya, will not succeed to the throne because of the dual loyalty of her son –his allegiance to Greek as well as India–disqualified him from succeeding his father because of this divided loyalty between two geographical boundaries–Greek and India. See the implication of the same doctrine in contemporary context: how a section of people are dying to make Rahul Gandhi as India’s prime minister, without being concerned by his divided loyalty–his another name is Roul Vinci as reported in tge press( the Italian name). During the independence movement, the contribution of such Brahmin leaders like Bal Gangadhar Tilak in providing guidance to the nation, remains unparalleled in the independent history of the nation. Even in the post independence phase, the political leadership of Brahmins like P.V. Narsimha Rao and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, continues to inspire the nation in its forward movement.

Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, who founded BHU and shaped the nation’s intellectual destiny.

Unequivocally, Brahmin leadership –whether religious or political–formed the pivot around which Sanatan Dharma revolved in every age and era. However, Sanatan Dharma today has been passing through the rough and tumble of our times; in fact, a global conspiracy has been ostensibly hatched to defame and degrade Sanatan Dharma in the eyes of the present generation of youth. The growing scale of conspiracies reflecting in the open undermining of this glorious religions from the different quarters, is the vindication of the fact that how Christianity and Islam, have been seeking to cannibalise Sanatan into their fold. Thus the random conversion of Hindus into Muslims and Christien, tantamounts to fossilise the most ancient religion on earth, the way Mesopotamia and Persian civilizations already were consigned to history. The ongoing jihads of various forms, like love jihad–the marriage of actress Sonakshi Sinha with an actor Zahir Iqbal–is the one of the several instances in today’s volatile scenario where Hindu girls are repeatedly falling casualty to this love jihad tactics of jihadis. Especially when Muslim youths are posing themselves as Hindus to lure Hindu girls, and convert them into Muslims after marriage, is the big racket which is operational across all over India today. Little wonder then, Brahmins, once again being on the forefront of the crusade to prevent Hindu conversion, is the biggest stumbling block on the path of Hindu conversion into Muslims or Christians. No wonder it is this intellectual prowess and foresightedness of Brahmin leadership which has come to be the deterrent for the conversion of Hindus. Thus the Islamists and the Christien zealots know that so long as Brahmins remain on the forefront, the whole scale conversion of Hindus was seldom feasible. Worse still, the decades of the Congress rule in the republic has fostered the nexus of anti-nationals and anti- Sanatanis like Communists, Urban Naxals and Islamists in some form of an established cartel, in cahoots with that of the various NGO’s, to wreak havoc on the Sanatan roots. Unequivocally, these gangs of thugs too have joined hands to direct their collective onslaught on Brahmins: the propaganda blitzkrieg going on in the social networking sites against the purported Brahminical tyranny, is the well thought out strategy to isolate and disgrace Brahmins, so that once Brahmins are isolated, the entire Sanatan Dharma will collapse like ninepins. These notorious gangs of thugs have taken a leaf out of the Portuguese rule in Goa, where the Brahmins were the first one to be targeted, for the Portuguese rulers knew if Brahmins could be lured away, the Hinduism would just disintegrate. Small wonder then, the wells from which Brahmins drew water for drinking, were polluted with beef. Thereby, the entire population of Hindus could be converted into Christians. Hence against the backdrop, the Hindus should realise that, notwithstanding the propaganda galore, Brahmins, despite certain pitfalls in ancient and mediaeval times, remains the pivot for the entire Hindu Community. Brahmins too, as the truism suggests, appears to have jettisoned the path of Brahminical Sanskara, like taking to Gayatri Mantra, which should have been their raison d’etre and summum bonum. For, the spiritual power always played the pivotal role in Brahminical leadership of the society. However, Brahmins of today appears to have been deracinated from their moorings. Thus they should increasingly take to spiritual edification for regaining their leadership position and credibility in the eyes of the society.
