28th October, 2025 Delhi: India reaffirmed its global clean energy leadership as the International Solar Alliance (ISA) launched two strategic initiatives to expand solar adoption and sustainability worldwide.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Assembly, Shri Pralhad Joshi, Hon\u2019ble Minister for New and Renewable Energy and President of the ISA Assembly, said ISA reflects \u201cglobal cooperation and shared purpose\u201d. Highlighting India’s rapid renewable transition, he noted that the country is now the 4th-largest globally in renewable capacity. India has also achieved its Nationally Determined Contribution target of 50% installed capacity from non-fossil sources five years ahead of schedule, driven by Hon\u2019ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n

ISA announced SUNRISE, a Solar Upcycling Network promoting recycling and innovation to manage solar waste and create green industries. Another flagship initiative \u2014 One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) \u2014 will advance regional solar power interconnections across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, with feasibility work beginning soon.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2015 by India and France, ISA today has 125 Member and Signatory Countries. Its mission focuses on financial mobilisation, technology, capacity building, and country-level engagement, ensuring clean energy access and sustainable development worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
