PM Modi Offers prayers at Kedarnath<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday offered prayers at the Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath, a day after campaigning for the general election came to a close.<\/p>\n

He reached Jolly Grant airport in the morning. Stringent security arrangements had been made for the Prime Minister\u2019s visit, DGP (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar said.<\/p>\n

This is Modi\u2019s second visit to the temple in the past two years.<\/p>\n

Modi will offer prayers at Badrinath on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The portals of the both the shrines were reopened for devotees after the winter break earlier this month.<\/p>\n

The campaigning for the seventh and the last phase of the general election ended on Friday evening. The Election Commission gave its nod to the visit while \u201creminding\u201d the Prime Minister\u2019s office that the model code of conduct is still in force.<\/p>\n
