Kathmandu, 26 January 2022.The\u00a0 73rd Republic\u00a0 Day\u00a0 of\u00a0 India\u00a0 was\u00a0 celebrated\u00a0 at\u00a0 the\u00a0 Embassy\u00a0 of India\u00a0 in\u00a0 Kathmandu\u00a0 on\u00a0 26 January\u00a0 2022.\u00a0 The\u00a0 celebrations\u00a0 began\u00a0 with hoisting\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 national\u00a0 flag\u00a0 by\u00a0 Ambassador\u00a0 Shri\u00a0 Vinay\u00a0 Mohan\u00a0 Kwatra\u00a0 who then\u00a0 read\u00a0 out\u00a0 the\u00a0 message\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Hon\u2019ble\u00a0 President\u00a0 of\u00a0 India\u00a0 on\u00a0 the occasion. The\u00a0 Ambassador\u00a0 felicitated\u00a0 war\u00a0 widows\u00a0 and\u00a0 next\u00a0 of\u00a0 kins\u00a0 of deceased\u00a0 soldiers\u00a0 by\u00a0 disbursing\u00a0 their\u00a0 dues\u00a0 of NRs. 6.35 crore and blankets.<\/span><\/p>\n

The celebration was part of \u2018Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u2019 which is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of India\u2019s independence and remarkable achievements by Indians in all spheres of human endeavour. As part of the Mahotsav, many events will be held throughout the year and uptill August 2023. In order to mark India@75 milestone in Nepal, it is planned to inaugurate 75 development projects implemented with India\u2019s assistance across the provinces and districts of Nepal this year. The Embassy will also be gifting 75 ambulances and school buses to various organizations and local authorities across Nepal.The event was livestreamed on Mission\u2019s social media handle.<\/span><\/p>\n
