\nBirgunj. On behalf of the Government of India, Consul General of India Shri Nitesh Kumar handed over a consignment of flood relief material to Ms. Chanda Chaudhury, Hon. Member of Parliament and President of the Nepal-India Women Friendship Society (NIWFS) on Wednesday, 01 September 2021 . Shri Kumar and Ms. Chaudhary then jointly handed over a tent and a sleeping mat each to around hundred flood victims from Jagarnathpur Municipality and Parsagadhi municipality\u00a0of Parsa district. The handing over ceremony was witnessed by the prominent leaders of political parties of Parsa and the officer bearers of NIWFS.<\/p>\n

The relief material handed over to NIWFS included Big Size Tents, Family Rigid Tent (Single Fly), Family Rigid Tent (Double Fly), Plastic Sheets and Sleeping Mats for distribution to flood affected families in six Terai districts of Province-2 in Nepal. In view of the recent destruction and loss of life caused by flood, the entire consignment will be distributed through NIWFS in coordination with local administration in the affected districts of Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha in Provinces 2.<\/p>\n

This gift is part of the Government of India\u2019s regular humanitarian assistance and disaster relief support to Nepal under India-Nepal Cooperation.Birgunj, <\/span>01 September 2021<\/span><\/p>\n
