Siraha, 6 September : Tzu Chi Foundation of Taiwan has provided struggling marginalized families with food stuff. As COVID-19 has brought daily lives to a standstill, with nations across the world are racing to contain the rapid<br \/>\nspread of the virus, the foundation has started its campaign in different parts of Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>With the great effort of Kedar Nath Yadav, Chairperson of Sakhuwanankarkatti, Tzu Chi Foundation has started relief campaign. The co-ordinator of this foundation, Ajay Kumar Ram explained that the organization has finalized to provide food relief to 1 thousand 2 hundred and thiry four families throughout the village municipality. According to Ram, for each family 25 kg rice, 10 kg wheat flour, 1 kg almond, 1 kg lentils, 1 ltr. cooking oil, 1 kg salt and 6 soap have been distributed. Municipal source said that the Dalit community people of ward 5 and 4 have received it.<\/p>\n<p>Government of Nepal quickly responded to the pandemic by passing travel restrictions, lockdown orders, and curfew regulations. Public sectors services and front-line facilities, such as hospitals and emergency services became strained with implementing necessary protective measures and subsequent influx of COVID-19 patients. While these much-needed interventions saving lives, they also have had cascading effects, with many small businesses closing and food crops going unharvested due to a shortage of seasonal workers.
