Unconfirmed reports reveal that he was<br \/>\nunder tremendous stress because of losing his job as the pandemic<br \/>\ncontinues to hit the newspaper industry. Later Sisodia, who left<br \/>\nbehind his father, mother, wife, two minor daughters with others,<br \/>\nsuccumbed to the injuries.<br \/>\nDays back, city based businessman Rantu Das, who was the<br \/>\nprinter-publisher of Asomiya Khabar, died of heart-failure on 3 July,<br \/>\nbut later he tested positive for Covid-19. He was admitted to the<br \/>\nhospital few weeks back with various ailments. Das, 54, left behind<br \/>\nhis wife, one son and one daughter with a host of relatives and<br \/>\nwell-wishers.<br \/>\nEarlier Chennai based journalist E Velmurugan, who worked as<br \/>\nvideographer in a Tamil news channel, Hyderabad based journalist Manoj<br \/>\nKumar, who worked for a Telugu news channel, Agra based print<br \/>\njournalist Pankaj Kulashrestha and Kolkata based photojournalist Ronny<br \/>\nRoy succumbed to Covid-19 complications.<br \/>\nUnconfirmed reports now claim that over fifty media employees working<br \/>\nfor various news channels, news papers and web channels of Guwahati,<br \/>\nturned positive for novel corona virus. As the worrisome development<br \/>\nhas not been reported by the State\u2019s mainstream media outlets, JFA<br \/>\nurges the media workers to be cautious and careful in safeguarding<br \/>\nthemselves and their families.<br \/>\n\u201cWe reiterate our demand for mass Covid-19 screening of all media<br \/>\nemployees by the respective managements to prevent the outbreak of<br \/>\nCovid-19,\u201d said a statement issued by JFA president Rupam Barua and<br \/>\nsecretary Nava Thakuria adding that State chief minister Sarbananda<br \/>\nSonowal and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma should support the<br \/>\ninitiative as media persons are presently playing the role of Covid-19<br \/>\nwarriors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guwahati: Journalists\u2019 Forum Assam (JFA) expresses shock at the incident of self-killing by a scribe who tested positive for Covid-19 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
