Kathmandu, Nepal,22 January 2020. The School Building of Aurobindo Ashram School in Thankot, Kathmandu,
\nDistrict ceremonially inaugurated on 22 January 2020 by Dr. Ajay Kumar,
\nCharge d\u2019 Affairs, Embassy of India. Mr. Mani Ram Gelal, Director General,
\nDepartment of Urban Development and Building Construction along with the
\npolitical, community leaders also attended the inaugural ceremony.
\nAurobindo Ashram School was established in 1993 by Sri Aurobindo Yoga
\nMandir in Thankot, Kathmandu District. This is a residential School, affiliated
\nto National Examination Board, Government of Nepal. The School is providing
\nSecondary School Education to nearly 260 students. The school has over 53%
\nof girls students. The most of the students are poor, destitute and orphan. The
\nSchool is providing free education and hostel facility to them. The project was
\nimplemented by DUDBC.
\nThe new infrastructure constructed with the Government of India\u2019s grant
\nassistance of NRs. 28.25 million, is a three storied building comprising eleven
\nclass rooms, three labs, four store rooms, two staff rooms, one room each for
\naccount, administration, record, library, principal, PA, examination, multi\ufffepurpose hall and furniture.
\nThe newly built infrastructure is expected to boost learning environment of
\nstudents. Government of India is happy to be associated with the project which
\ncompliments effort of Government of Nepal in augmenting infrastructure in the
\nfield of education.<\/p>\n
