\nKathmandu, Nepal,6 January 2020. The Second batch of 21 officers of Commission for the Investigation of
\nAbuse of Authority (CIAA) of Nepal has started their 6 day training on
\n\u2018Prevention of Fraud, Bribery and Corruption\u2019 at the Gujarat Forensic
\nSciences University (GFSU), Gandhinagar on 6 January 2020. This latest
\ntraining for Nepali officers reaffirms India\u2019s continuing commitment for
\ncapacity building of Nepali officers.The First batch of 21 CIAA officers of Nepal
\nhad received the similar training from December 16 to 21, 2019 at GFSU,
\nGandhinagar. They found the training,carried out by the experienced faculty
\nmembers, was very good and fruitful. Itempowered them with new and
\nuseful ideas for carrying out investigations in Nepal.
\nThis is a tailor-made course specially designed at the request of
\nGovernment of Nepal for a total of 42 CIAA officers. This course will
\nstrengthen the institutional capacity of CIAA to curb corrupt practices and
\nenhance good governance in Nepal. The course mainly focuses on identifying
\nfactors for corruption, its impact on the economy and methodology for its
\ndetection and prevention. The Course would enhance skills of CIAA Officers for
\nIT-based investigations, sharpen their analytical capabilities and help them
\nlearn new methodologies which would empower them to detect, prevent and
\nprosecute corrupt and fraudulent individuals.
\nThe officers are being trained in the prestigious Gujarat Forensic
\nSciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat which trains forensic experts in the
\narea of Forensic Science, Crime Investigation, Security, Behavioral Science
\nand Criminology. The course is fully supported by the Government of India
\nunder the Ministry of External Affairs\u2019 Indian Technical and Economic
\nCooperation (ITEC) Programme.
